In the Christene C. Moss Elementary School Library, reading isn’t just about learning—it’s also a powerful way to support mental health. Taking time to slow down, relax, and enjoy a good book can help students feel more centered and calm during their busy school day.
One of our favorite ways to make reading fun and comforting? Turn down the lights, get out a flashlight, cozy up to the faux campfire, and find a stuffed reading buddy! Whether it’s a bear, bunny, or dragon, these cuddly companions help create a safe, cozy space where students can unwind, build confidence, and let their imaginations soar.
Reading gives kids a moment to breathe, reset, and explore new worlds—all while building emotional resilience. So grab a book, snuggle up with a buddy, and let the stories work their magic.
